We're Hiring! American Carpet One Floor & Home is looking for people for the following positions:

 

HR/ PAYROLL SPECIALIST

 Required:

  • Four year college graduate with BA in business preferred
  • Hands on experience with Ceridian payroll and timekeeping software
  • 2 years processing personnel and payroll records for 100+ employee firms
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to articulate effectively with staff and management
  • Organized multi-tasker with great attention to detail
  • Proficient Microsoft Office skills to include Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Flexible, results-oriented, and able to meet deadlines
  • Able to keep information confidential
  • Willingness and ability to do all required duties and additional duties as needed 

Compensation: $18 - $20/ hour, based on experience.

 Work day/ hours: Mondays-Fridays, 8:30 am to 5:30 pm, with some early mornings and weekends as needed. This is a full-time, non-exempt position.

 

 

ASSISTANT DESIGNER/ ADMINISTRATIVE COORDINATOR

Work Hours:  7:30am-4pm, with the possibility of overtime. This is a non-exempt position.

Supervisor:  Store Manager

Work Days: Monday – Saturday.

Compensation: TBD

Required: Working proficiency with Word, Excel, Outlook, RMFS; excellent communication skills, both verbal and written; able to work independently and also cooperatively with other team members.

This is an administrative position to provide support for all sections of the sales team: Floor Coverings, Kitchen & Bath, and Window & Door.

Job duties include, but are not limited to:

 Cleaning and maintaining showroom, samples and collateral material

 Learning all store products and assisting in sales

 Learning programs and systems necessary to perform job functions

 Communicating effectively as part of the team

 Providing assistance to customers and members in-store, via email and telephone

 Processing and assisting in the sales process, including computer work to facilitate sales process, checking paperwork for orders and verifying that all information is complete and correct

 Creating, processing and tracking orders

 Providing specialized support to the Kitchen & Bath and Window & Door sections, which will include, but is not limited to:

  • Placing and tracking orders for materials
  • Checking acknowledgements and verifying that order information is correct
  • Creating orders and quotes in system
  • Using the 20-20 design program to create layout and designs
  • Providing design assistance to members and their clients
  • Facilitating the processing of orders through the RFMS system
  • Creating, processing, and tracking of quotes, contacts and inquiries
  • Assisting designers and other staff to close sales
  • Performing design consultation services for members and clients
  • Helping to resolve claims (shipping and manufacturer claims)
  • Implementing what has been learned and looking for ways to better the sections
  • Acting as a resource of knowledge on all products within sections
  • All other duties as may be assigned

 

SALES ADMIN

Desired Qualities:

  • Excellent customer service skills;
  • Detail-oriented and organized;
  • Able to multi-task;
  • Experience in cash handling;
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel;
  • Able to lift and carry up to 20 lbs;
  • Able to understand, speak, write, and read English;
  • High school diploma or equivalent;
  • Able to work independently, yet cooperatively, with sales team members and other co‑workers;
  • Willingness and ability to perform all required duties and additional duties as needed. 

Minimum two years of experience in customer service, administrative assistant/ office or sales is preferred.

 Compensation: $30K - $36K, plus bonuses.

 Work days/ hours: Any day, including weekends, 8:00 am to 5:30 pm (45 hrs/ week).

Some early morning meetings. This is a full‑time, non‑exempt position.

 

RECEPTIONIST

Desired Qualities:

  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Detail-oriented and organized
  • Able to multi-task
  • Experience in cash handling
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel
  • Able to lift and carry up to 20 lbs
  • Able to understand, speak, write, and read English
  • Able to sit for long periods of time
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Able to work independently, yet cooperatively, with sales team members and other co‑workers;
  • Willingness and ability to perform all required duties and additional duties as needed.

 Minimum one year of experience in customer service or front office work is preferred.

 Compensation: $13 - $15/ hour.

 Work days/ hours: Any day, including weekends, 8:00 am to 5:30 pm (45 hrs/ week);

some early morning meetings. This is a full‑time, non‑exempt position.

 

CUSTOMER CARE

 Desired Qualities:

  • Excellent customer service and telephone skills;
  • Detail-oriented and organized;
  • Able to multi-task;
  • Able to work any day, including weekends;
  • Enjoys working with and helping others;
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel;
  • Able to lift and carry up to 20 lbs;
  • Able to understand, speak, write, and read English;
  • Able to sit for extended periods;
  • High school diploma or equivalent;
  • Willingness and ability to perform all required duties and additional duties as needed.

 Minimum one year of experience in customer service or front office work is preferred.

 Compensation: $30K - $36K, including overtime.

PURCHASING CLERK:

  • Able to communicate with people both outside and within the Company;
  • Able to understand pricings and margins;
  • Willingness and ability to perform all required duties and additional duties as needed.

 Minimum two years of experience in customer service, administrative assistant/ office or sales is preferred.

 Compensation: $13 - $16/ hour.

 Work days/ hours: Monday through Friday, 7:30 am – 5:30 pm (40 hrs/week).

Some early morning meetings. This is a full‑time, non‑exempt position.


Warehouse Persons
for a growing warehouse team.

Required:

· Able to lift and carry, with proper equipment, up to 100 lbs.
· Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
· Able to work any day, including weekends


Desired Qualities:
· Strong customer service skills
· Able to work in a team environment
· Able to drive, with proper training, Company vehicles including but not limited to forklifts and vans
· Able to use, with training, required tools and equipment to prepare flooring materials for delivery to or pick up by customers
· Able to use, with training, required tools and equipment to finish carpet edgings;
· Able to understand, speak, write, and read English
· High school diploma or equivalent
· Willingness and ability to perform all required duties and additional duties as needed

Compensation: $13 - $15 per hour
Work Hours: Shifts between 7:00 am to 4:30 pm; 40 hours/ week. Some early morning meetings; some evening work until 8 pm, as needed.
This is a full-time, non-exempt position.



Flooring Consultants

Full-time, exempt sales positions.
Required:

· Excellent communication and customer service skills
· Working knowledge of MS Office
· Access to vehicle, valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
· Able to work any day, including weekends


Desired Qualities:
· Minimum two years of customer service, retail or wholesale sales experience
· Willingness and ability to do all required duties and all additional duties as needed

Compensation: $40K to $60K, including salary, bonuses and commissions

 

Flooring Installation Apprentices

Required:

· Able to lift and carry, with proper equipment, up to 100 lbs.
· Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
· Able to work any day, including weekends
· Able to understand, speak, write, and read English
· Able to climb stairs
· Able to kneel for extended periods of time


Desired Qualities:
· Commitment and desire to learn a trade through work experience
· Strong customer service skills
· Able to drive, with proper training, Company vehicles including but not limited to forklifts and vans
· Able to use, with training, required tools and equipment to prepare and install flooring materials
· Willingness and ability to perform all required duties and additional duties as needed
· High school diploma or equivalent

Compensation: $13 - $15 per hour
Work Hours: 6:30 am to completion of job.
